The musicians Francesco Giannico & Giulio Aldinucci together with Dronarivm label invite you to participate in the World Listening Day 2015/2016, an annual global event held on July 18 with the main purpose to celebrate the listening practices of the world and the ecology of its acoustic environments.

Starting from 18 July 2015, it will be possible to send us one or more field recordings taken in a public square from all over the world until the end of the year 2015.

A town square is an open public space commonly found in the heart of a traditional town and used for community gatherings. Based on this basic perspective, it is easy to notice how the soundscape of this living center could represent not only sonically, but also from a cultural point of view, a priceless document.

The audio material selected by the artists will be reworked by them in order to create an ideal symphony of all living squares all over the world. This work will be released on the Dronarivm label on 18 July 2016. Contributors will be credited on the cd-booklet and on the website as well.
