Philippe Petit (Marsella, sur de Francia) quizá no es excesivamente conocido para mucha gente, pero lleva ya muchos años trabajando como activista sonoro, desde que comenzó en los ochenta como dj, editor de fanzines y productor de radio. En 1993 fue cofundador del sello de música experimental Pandemonium Records, que lanzó más de 40 discos hasta el 2000, año en que decidió emprender una nueva aventura discográfica, abriendo el sello BiP_HOp, que desde entonces no ha parado de lanzar una gran variedad de hibridos musicales a medio camino entre lo acústico y lo digital, el ambient y los ritmos poco convencionales. Además de esta labor editorial, sigue trabajando regularmente como dj, haciendo radio y escribiendo reseñas musicales (en noise magazine por ejemplo).

Mañana, para celebrar sus 25 años de activismo (felicidades Philippe), va a realizar un show especial de radio de más de 20 horas de duración. Aquí pegamos la info sobre este evento, y como bonus, publicamos uno de sus sets, en este caso remezclando trabajos de Ryoji Ikeda, que realizó para el festival de radio RadiaLX08, celebrado en Lisboa el mes pasado. Este y otros muchos trabajos fueron emitidos ininterrumpidamente durante más de una semana en un streaming especial a través de Radio Zero.

From 14:10 to 19:00 will be interviewing local activists whose work I appreciate and thus wanted to share promotion with: Ferdinand Richard (A.M.I, festival Mimi), Raphaël Sage (Seconde Nature), Pierre-Emmanuel Etchegarray (Cabaret Aléatoire), Live in Marseille, The Dirteez, Markovo, 25, Perceval Bellone, Binaire, Maki, Rosa, Kulfi… 19 to 20 will be your weekly BiP_HOp Generation radio show

Then from 20 PM to 06 AM the antenna will air 10 hours of mixes I had prepaired and recorded live there in the Summer, going from 50/6Ts musics to Jazzthetik, to Sci-fi sounds from outer space, to the most avant-gardish leftfield…
