111 Creative Commons Christmas Songs
30-Dic-05
111 Creative Commons Christmas Songs
Literal [boingboing]
Here’s a list of 111 songs which are all explicitly released under a Creative Commons license (no, I did not consider songs which are merely “podsafe”!) and thus can be shared, listened to, and sometimes even modified freely. There’s a great variety in style, mood, and genre of the songs: some traditional, some contemporary, some happy, some sad, and some just plain funny.

1) Fluxus makes the mundane magical.
2) Fluxus happens when one feels that life and art must be taken so
seriously, that it becomes impossible to take life or art seriously.
3) Ordinary acts and ordinary objects perceived in extraordinary ways.

Eclectic Method - DVD - en MP4
29-Dic-05
Jonny from Eclectic Method has just told us they have the entire “We’re Not VJ’s” available as a PSP/iPod video download. Hurry, hurry, it’s only online for two weeks.

AudioMulch 1.0rc1
29-Dic-05
AudioMulch 1.0rc1
AudioMulch version 1.0rc1 is now available from the download page. This version will expire on January 14th 2006.
This version includes over 20 bug fixes, user interface tweaks and sonic enhancements. The most significant changes are: improved LiveLooper and CanonLooper contraptions with documentation; the ability to use MIDI note and aftertouch messages as control sources; and a new toggle MIDI mapping mode for boolean (checkbox) parameters. Together these enhancements make it much easier to control AudioMulch contraptions (including the Loopers) using MIDI foot pedals and control surfaces with buttons..

[lista de correos] Copyleft - Arte
29-Dic-05

Silence of the Lands
28-Dic-05
Silence of the Lands
Silence of the Lands enables participants to annotate and map the soundscape of urban and natural environments. Participants can record and collect ambient sounds, create and share individual and collective cartographies, and use them as conversation pieces of a social dialogue on natural quiet. The result is a pervasive museum in which natural quiet is transformed into a living and affective geography that changes over time according to participants’ perceptions and interpretations of their environmental setting.
The project, currently under development, explores locative media as a component of large sociotechnical architectures aimed at supporting co-creation as a new form of collaborative design. We refer to this practice as metadesign

Audio Visual Orchestra

Audio Visual Orchestra
http://www.hmcmedialab.org/projects/Audiovisualorchestra/
The artwork of the Audio Visual Orchestra explores the relationship between hallucination and technology, between the natural and the artificial and between the everyday and the mystical. This project recreates an altered state of consciousness in the viewer through solely technological means. It is fractaline, chaotic and self-organising in form. These pieces represent a shared space between the physical and the virtual, the brain and the mind. The music, video and dance were all performed in real-time, live, in the moment, without any post-production at all.
Unusually, these visuals were made without the use of a single computer, instead the Audio Visual Orchestra re-appropriated a range of analogue equipment, resulting in these beautiful images. The pieces represent a multi-disciplinary collaboration between a number of art forms and practices.
The Audio Visual Orchestra brings together dancers, musicians and video artists, working to create stunning live art pieces, with an emphasis on combining the spiritual with the technological, culminating in artworks that will react dynamically to your presence. As you stand in the space huge screens show an image of you with colours and shapes flying around your body. Using a wide range of interfaces from push-able buttons to immaterial triggers it is now possible to create beautiful moving images in space. These stunning visuals are complimented by strange echoing sounds that react to any noise you make. The sounds and the visuals can be intrinsically linked creating a true synaesthesia.
Sean Eisenstein is the Director of the Audio Visual Orchestra.
