After the great success in past years, in 2009 the ARD Radio Play Days will take place for the sixth time, so it’s time again, for all radio play fans: from 4th to 8th November go to ZKM and the HfG Karlsruhe! On offer is the entire spectrum of radio art. In addition, all ARD state radio facilities and Deutschlandradio will present their best productions and send them to the competition for the ARD German Radio Play Prize.

Highlights of the festival are next to the various Live Radio Plays the SWR2 Studio-Brettl live with Matthias Deutschmann and Global Kryner, the concert of Markus Popp aka «oval» – who for years now belonged to the most highly profiled and internationally renowned producers in the area of contemporary electronic music – as well as the Klangdom Concert on Saturday in the ZKM_Cube. The ARD Childrens Radio Play Day 2009 on Sunday is a party for the whole familiy.

Additionally there will be a public presentation of the CD «Der Künstler als junger Hund» [The Artist as a Young Dog] on Wednesday, 4 November at 5.30 p.m. with Peter Weibel, Herbert Kapfer, and Margit Rosen, that honors the artist character Peter Weibel. [more]
