what is the maa? The migration-audio-archive project comprises an – mainly internet based – initial collection of 100 audio accounts of migration stories which have been preserved in a living, ever-growing audio archive for the public to experience.

To create an audio experience encompassing the many facets of migration; to recount the life-stories and accounts of migrants who have experienced all types of migration, from classic employment migration to environmental migration.

Over the coming months, www.migration-audio-archiv.de will be developed into an extensive internet site with the focus on audio features. The accounts will be presented in high quality for all users to access; in addition, the users will have the chance to immerse themselves in the accounts’ interactive accompanying material, to develop their own perspectives, to leave comments and to take part in further research and discussions concerning the History of Migration.
