At the core of the project is Roc Jim\u00e9nez de Cisneros, a musician and composer living and working in Barcelona. Occasional EVOL members and\/or collaborators include Danish composer and multi-instrumentist Jakob Draminsky H\u00f8jmark, British sound artists Joe Gilmore and Jim Brouwer, Spanish writer and sound artist Anna Mar\u00eda Ramos, British video artist Andy Davies and British sound artist Joel Ongthorne.<br \/>\nEVOL&#8217;s work has been released on internationally acclaimed record labels such as Mego, Lucky Kitchen, Diskono, Scarcelight, Antifrost or fals.ch.<br \/>\n2003 saw the birth of a series of electroacoustic pieces entitled Punani, which addresses some of the main aspects of EVOL&#8217;s work, namely: algorithmic composition, noise, diverse synthesis techniques, spectro-morphology and the musical application of fractal geometry and other mathematical phenomena. The series has four parts so far.<br \/>\nSince 1997, Anna Mar\u00eda Ramos and Roc Jim\u00e9nez de Cisneros co-run the record label and artists&#8217; collective ALKU, as well as IMB\u00c9CIL, a platform for absurd computing and binary obfuscation. Apart from ALKU&#8217;s audio editions (which include works by Edwin van der Heide, Yasunao Tone, JLIAT, Wobbly, Kotra, Team Doyobi, Beige, Peter Rehberg and various concept-driven music compilations) Anna and Roc have produced installations and digital works for art galleries and museums around the world. <\/p>\n<p><a href='http:\/\/www.mediateletipos.net\/wp-content\/images\/2007\/05\/evol-lempetita-th.gif' title='evol-lempetita-th.gif'><img src='http:\/\/www.mediateletipos.net\/wp-content\/images\/2007\/05\/evol-lempetita-th.gif' alt='evol-lempetita-th.gif' \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>info EVOL is a computer music project started in 1996.
